A WRITER'S BLOG

Probably not the first time somebody has come up with that pun. It is the first time I ever considered using it as a title. Well to start things off I thought I would tell a little about my self. I'm 6'2' 37 years young. I live in Norfolk VA and I love writing though I haven't had anything published yet except for a letter I wrote to a magazine once. Inventing stories or plots for stories always came like second nature for me. In fact when I was younger my friends and I would make up stories just to pass the time.
Any way I am a little bit nervous about things lately. One of the things I am nervous about is I have become the new head of the Newport News Writing Group and our next meeting is on the 29th of July. I made my wife VP and we have come up for some ideas that we think will be improvements . Another thing I am nervous about is this blog. My intention is to have it  be a place where other writers can come for advice or to give it. Hopefully writers block can become a thing of the past but not likely. Well that's it for my first entry

Sorry I haven't kept up with this blog but I have been busy writing a few stories on webook in hopes of getting something published. On the other hand it looks like I'm the only one interested in this blog so what am saying I'm sorry for when nobody seems to be reading this anyway? If you do read this please let me know by adding a comment.

Also I don't know if I made myself clear or not but other writers can post on this blog questions they may have and/or answers to questions that were submitted. Or maybe you have a helpful hint you would like to give that could be useful

Two tips I can give that helped me are
1. Don't assume that your first version of the story you are writing is going to be the final draft. I used to know one author that would go through many copies before he actually sent a book to the publishers.
2. Don't be afraid to show your work to friends. They can be some of your best critics.
